I don't get concurrent sentences. Forget examples for there are many and no doubt you've read of one that pissed ya.

But if there's a crime with a sentence of say...3 years, but some criminal commits another and another crime of similar degree, why get 2 03 3 sentences of 3 years..TO BE SERVED CONCURRENTLY?

Aren't the other crimes FREE then? I say so. At least double the sentence for purposes of justice to the victim and society...

Hate em also along with double negatives juxapositions but especilla rhetorical statements

Glad to see that. I will file it for reference under the rubric of Matters Inconsequential

Meantime I'm reading of another concurrent sentence.
Seems unfair to get the same sentence for three fraud cases as is the sentence for one.
It would be more just to protect the citizenry by incarceration to be served separately for each crime.

OK if this is a rant, I'm ranting. But at least I feel better and I'm not responsible for your feelings am I :p

When someone is convicted of more than one crime and a judge sentences that individual to serve them concurrently, all he's doing is lettigs the good public know he didn't forgotten the lesser crimes but giving the defendent somewhat of a break by not coming down too hard on him (or something like that).

The only time it has an effect is if he re-offends.

The fact that he already has two three years ententes means he can be given a longer one next time.
