I had a guest...

at my new house. I stepped outside for my afternoon walk yesterday and a gray cat came running over from across the street. I think it's the cat named Mr. Stanley that a neighbor told me about when I was moving in. I opened the front door and he waltzed right in. He must be a very well-treated pet. Most cats are very shy of strangers. He looked around a few minutes. I wanted to give him something, but all I had that a cat might want was some sliced chicken from the deli. I pulled a few strips off and he ate them with alacrity. Then I let him out. Haven't seen him since. I though after giving him chicken, he'd be camped on my doorstep.

I don't know many neighbors. I used to have a cat, Mikey. Every morning he'd head out on his "rounds". One winter, it was really icy; and I slide off the road in the front of my development. I live way in the back on a cull de sac. Some people came out to help me. I could hear them say, "Who is this guy?" Someone said " He lives with the black and white cat". I heard, "OHH". I found out he was visiting all over the development. They didn't know me, but they knew my cat.
My next door neighbor had a 3 year old daughter, and was a super dog person. He raised these expensive show dogs. He only had 1 litter a year, and people waited for years to get one of his dogs. His daughter used to stuff Mikey into a little carriage and push him around. He was going to give her a puppy. She didn't want no damn dog, she wanted a kitty, "just like Mikey". So he finally gave in and got a cat. Every time I saw him, he brought it up. " Because of your cat, I had to go buy a CAT!!!!!"

I leave cat food out for the strays. We just trapped and got a couple of the males nuetered. This one is Scotch. He makes his rounds and comes and goes as he pleases. He’s starting to stay a bit longer now that I got him fixed. Your kitty will be back.
