I Hate Gardening -- Do you?

Yes, I hate gardening. I used to mow our lawn when we lived in South Florida and we'd replace all the flowers in the beds. When we moved to Dallas in 2006, there was a lawn man referred by the previous owner. I have paid him $25 per week for 19 years. When I want the flowers replaced I have a good landscaper for that. Although gardening can be therapeutic, I have better things to do with my time. (Like watching TV :ROFLMAO:.)

I've posted this ad nauseum, but I would never have the patience to maintain this.

how did crows get ito a green house ? ..because that's where you should be ideally growing tomatoes....
I used to have lots of crows here, they have left. The woods have been bulldozed and building
110 new family homes are going in on the 80 acres across the main road from us. It's a mess with
lots of heavy equipment, and Gravel hauling - 18 wheelers this spring. Summer starts soon!

$$$ millions spent on that HOA happening too. Our home value continues to go up, more taxes ^ 6 %

I hate it... but it's a necessary evil. I have a nice garden..I grow a few flowers in pots, beause I cannot stand all that dead heading, re-planting ''painting the forth road bridge'' kind of carry on, in that as soon you've finished painting one end you have to start again on the other, planting, weeding, deadheading, planting weeding, covering up for frost, sarying with insect repellent, .. watering, planting ...weeding..... none of that type of gardening appeals to me.. ... but 90 % of my garden are shrubs, trees, and hedges...

In the last year I've employed a local gardener ( actually he's a tree surgeon ).. who comes and cuts back and tops all the hedges... and if the grass needs mowing when he comes he does that too... but otherwise I do all the mowing, I don't mind it.. don't love it... but I do it beause I want all my lawns and gardens looking nice..

Oh I forgot , I do have my roses on trellises out front, but I clip them back regularly and that's all they seem to need..
That exercise pays huge dividends to Doll.

Many years ago, my mother's next-door neighbour was mowing his front yard getting ready for his daughter's wedding in a couple of weeks' time. He decided to spray some fertiliser on to the grass but used the wrong bottle and sprayed weed spray. Within a couple of hours all the grass was brown. The next day he had to spray green water-based paint on to it to make it look alright for the photos. Poor man was in such a state.
