I have a great idea on how to respond to illegal fireworks!

PARADES every July 5th!!!!!!!!!! Early starts, like at 7 or 8 a.m.

While those boozers and fire-starters are sleeping it off on the morning of July 5th, every community has a PARADE! It can be a Silly Parade to celebrate anything you want, like the DooDah Parade in Pasadena.

Police and firetruck participation encouraged with them blaring their sirens. Individual car entries encouraged and hook up stuff to your car to play LOUD music of your choice!

July 5th early morning parades are the answer back to the July 4th illegal fireworks.

I think I would totally play the Barney song from my car.

OR, Baby Shark.

That sounds like a fun and creative way to turn the morning after July 4th into a positive community event!
A parade celebrating anything people want, with police and firetruck participation and loud music, sounds like a great way to bring people together and counter the aftermath of fireworks.

OK, but remember that Barney the Dinosaur was killed by Nick the Eskimo, who had some serious dance moves, and is now venerated by many….

Well it started in the early afternoon yesterday. The neighbors down the street were setting off something that sounded like artillary shells. All afternoon into the evening this went on.

I read online that mortars like that cost anywhere from $9-$100+. Imagine blowing that much dough just to make noise? They finally ran out around 10:30 pm.

Next time some fool starts complaining about how expensive it is to live anymore, remember this is the kind of crap people want to spend money on.

It sounds really childish to me.
Does it really stop the people from lighting fire works ?
Not any more childish than lighting up illegal fireworks that fly in the air. They want to embrace their inner child by lighting things on fire and throwing them in the air, by making loud BOOMS to deafen all around, and I want to embrace my inner child by having a Breakfast Silly Parade.

At least my childishness won't put anyone in harm's way.

Two wrongs don’t make a right.

Not seeing how that would do anything to them. Hopefully the noise of the parade wouldn't hassle me too. I can imagine my neighbors making noise at the parade. They party for 72 hours straight sometimes. That's why I think they're on drugs. How do they not sleep?

From what I have seen in TV and movies, they don't miss sleep when on meth.

What fireworks do you call "illegal?"

And neither do fireworks if they are used properly. What is your beef with people having fireworks anyway? People are enjoying life and having some fun during a holiday. They have a cookout and then blast some fireworks. So what's the matter with that? Do you complain about everything that is against your grain or do you just enjoy trying to make other people complain about something that they probably never gave a second thought to until you brought it up?

Fireworks have been going on for years and will continue to do so and even though I do not enjoin in the lighting of fireworks, I don't complain about my neighbors enjoying the activity.

What fireworks do you call "illegal?"
Every area has a different set of laws, so I'm guessing she's calling fireworks that doesn't comply with her laws in her area "illegal".

In my area, anything that goes up in the air and pops is illegal.

If fireworks are used properly, they wouldn't be illegal. In my area, if they were used properly according to the law, I wouldn't hear them or see them. They can't pop or fly in the air.

Last year in the US, 9,700 people were injured and 8 people died from fireworks related injuries. Every year, there's fire damage, often to the property of people not doing the fireworks.

This year was no different.

That's why there are laws about fireworks that can cause damage.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, last year 9,700 people were treated in emergency rooms across the nation and eight people died from fireworks-related accidents.
From Illinois to Utah: Firework mishaps claim lives and injure dozens this July 4th

Tell me what fireworks you are calling illegal.

PTSD and autism can play a role in a dislike of fireworks.
