I have a new Rental Manager

The previous one has retired.
Received electricity bill. I open the attachment, $4864. 🫣 😄
Never received one like this afore, 🙃
Obviously, this is the total for all 30 units. I open the other attachment, $47.26. This is my share.
I'm going to go out on a limb here & guess you aren't going to pay the$4,864.00 just to be appreciated by the new manager.

Correct, with any luck, I will have little to do with the newby, hoping my move to Melbourne pans out in the positive.
Always be careful going out on those limbs though. One of them will break one day, throwing you all asunder.

You should be happy with your electric bill. Last month, our bill was over $300, which is normal during very cold weather.
Of course, we run two (2) heat pumps, which pull a lot of amps (30 Amps each) and we just had an extended cold spell. I have been thinking about having a gas furnace installed and changeover to gas heat. I think it may be more economical. Not sure yet, but I will be talking to an HVAC Engineer before I finalize the plan to go forward with installing a gas furnace.

Heat pumps work great for AC, not so good with heating in cold weather. My sister switched over from natural gas to electric (heat pump) a couple of years ago. She said the heat pump runs almost continuously in winter but that the total charges for power are about the same.
We have a heat pump. They don’t do well in extremely cold weather. Luckily we don’t have a lot of extremely cold weather here in Nova Scotia which is why heat pumps are the main choice for heating and cooling here. They make great air conditioners too.

Is that all heat pumps? Mine did very well. I have one pump that heats all of the normal common areas in the house. The other heat pump heats the basement living and social areas and also the garage is heated. As you may be able to imagine, Heat Pump #2 costs more to operate, only because it heats the garage. The garage and the garage door are both insulated. We put all new windows in our home and garage just a few years ago. I have a warm home in the winter.

We keep the thermostat set at 75 degrees, so my kids don’t like visiting in the winter, which is another reason to keep it warm. (Just kidding, of course.😜) When my son and DIL come to visit, they bring their dog, which is a black Lab. She’s still a pup at one year old. I spend more time with the dog than I do with the kids, so says my wife.
