I have a wedding photo of someone I don't know...

But I know someone who is related to the wedding party. I contacted them offering the photo. They said they wanted it very much. Then I said, "Pick it up here tomorrow and bring $5." Then they message back, "Forget it then, I don't want it."

What did they think I would just give it away???? I don't give things away at my yard sale. I guess it wasn't worth it to them to have a piece of their family history for a measly $5. It's an 9 x 12" and looks like it's from the 1920s.

Send the photo to them, deb. Write a note saying you were only joking or something, say "I really wanted you to have this............"

Tell us how you feel afterwards. Call it an experiment. It's not too late to change. I've been doing a life review on myself this year. There are changes I can make. I can do it, so can you.

Great idea from Pepper.

I have to wonder if you have ever given someone something just because @debodun

Deb I feel bad for you after all the comments, but I also believe everyone was really trying to help you and maybe you are reconsidering? We all do unthinking things and perhaps this was one from you...

I agree with Pepper's suggestion ...you might want to consider sending the photo with a note saying you were joking and/or reconsidered..and then be aware of how that made you feel. I am almost positive it will feel good... all the best!

When you leave this earth, who will stay with all of your photos that you have accumulated? Basically, someone will inherit them; free of charge. Right? Why would you want to sell a photo for $5? Will the $5 make you richer?

My heart also breaks for you. Not of pity, but of sadness regarding your attitude towards money.

Did you ever hold down a job, by the way? Just curious.

it's not the selling of a photo per se..it's the selling of the photo to the relatives of the people in the photo...( people that Deb has admitted she doesn't even know)....

I'm not saying this to build myself up and I really don't like kids much and never had any. But in some small way, I may see my unhappy child self in some of them.

We had a garage sale and two women stopped with a little boy. He apparently had his own money and was looking at stuffed animals. Asking how much I said "how about you take as many as you want for 10 cents." I still remember him looking up at his mother all happy and exclaiming something. I think his mother said some limit but he got his stuffed animals and payed 10 cents. I still remember how excited that little kid got. He was maybe 4-5.
