I have always wanted to do it......

It's really weird when I think about it but I can't think of a single thing that I really feel I missed. Believe me, it's not because I think I've done it all. I just feel that I have simply been blessed with a pretty good life. I still welcome all great experiences that may come my way, though I have no particular longing, if that makes sense.

I've wanted to try surfing since I was young. By the time I made it to Hawaii, I was 49 and in no condition to try without hurting myself. That's one dream I'm willing to let go of. With my luck, I'd be attacked by a great white shark anyway!

Seeing the sequoias in California. I've never made it that far north in my previous visits to CA.

They are amazing! I highly recommend seeing them. The best place for them is Sequoia National Park, but there are also some within Yosemite National park and there's Big Trees State Park on Highway 4 where you can see some as well. The ones in Sequoia are the biggest though. If you can go hiking I highly recommend that because one only needs to get about 1/4 to 1/2 mile from the parking areas to really get away from 95% of the people and see the trees virtually on your own.

So many dreams were put on hold when I was younger, due to lack of time and money, or busy raising a child. Now that both time and money are available, I no longer physically have the energy to do those things. I'll have to let them go and find new dreams.

A wise woman once told me to do things that I wanted to do~ to go places I wanted to while I was young and able. She told me to find a way to make it happen. I wish I had taken her advice.

I've always wanted to go hang gliding but I haven't done it yet. I haven't written it off, but I'm less likely to do it than before because I have a new grandson and would like to be around to see him grow up. I am in good enough shape to do it, so not what's preventing me from doing it is a combination of having the time, money and trust in the school/instructor to do it.

I always wanted to go sky-diving - had the chance in my 20's. Don't think I'd take the chance now.

I was lucky enough to do that when I was in college. I arranged a group lesson and got people to sign up to do it with me. Rather than getting a free lesson for myself I lowered the cost for everyone and paid the same as the people I got to join me. We did the training on a Saturday and went back on Sunday to jump. We did tethered line jumps so we were by ourselves but jumping out of the plane is what caused our shoots to open. I still have the vivid auditory memory of counting and waiting for my shoot to open but I didn't really start to see anything until my shoot was open.
