No idea how long repairs will take. Most likely at least an hour from now.

We get a lot of flooding but not a lot of lives lost in it.

The photo looks like some my friend Ella, from Dunoon NSW, posted elsewhere. Been in high water a couple of times post hurricanes in Florida as a kid, but nothing as bad as what they are getting down there this year.

The Los Angeles area used to have flooding and destruction like that prior to the construction of the flood control channels - the so called concrete rivers. We still get local flooding and mudslides, but never widespread disasters.
