I have been watching Shakespeare’s plays lately

Last night I watched The Tempest - a line from the play; as leaky as an unstanched wench (look that one up for yourself)
A couple of days ago I watched Twelfth Night - this word was used - Consanguineous. - (Of the same lineage or origin; having a common ancestor.)

don't worry it doesn't leave any lasting symptoms....:sneaky::ROFLMAO:

At the Folger - Shakespeare library in Washington D.C. I saw one of the extant copies of the First Folio. Only 2 or 3 of his signatures exist.

In high school English class, I never could get into Shakespeare. It was like learning a new language. We had to recite Hamlet's "To be, or not to be: that is the question: Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, Or to take arms against a sea of troubles, And by opposing end them...."

However, when I was in my twenties, the Cleveland Zoo would host Shakespeare in the Park events. The one play I was able to attend was A Midsummer Night's Dream. That's when I fell in love with Shakespeare's plays.

When I was in school I didn't like reading Shakespeare. Mainly because it was the Pelican edition. Later in the 1970's I discovered the Folger's Shakespeare editions of his plays. I loved them. It was like Shakespeare For Dummies. It made it much more easy to understand Shakespeare's works. I ended up reading everything he was known to have written.

In May and June of 1978, while I was living in New York City, I was in a production of William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. I played Romeo's servant Balthasar. I got to fence with Italian foils during the opening scene where the Montagues and Capulets are brawling in the street. Also I got to be in the ballroom dance scene where the young lovers meet. Because of that, Romeo and Juliet, became my favorite play of his.

I actually was cast in 2 different plays of his at the same time. So I had to choose between Romeo and Juliet and The Winter's Tale. I believe I made the right choice.
