For those of you who aren't familiar with this PBS cooking show (probably the best and most fun to watch cooking show on TV IMHO) America's Test Kitchen (aka Cook's Country) is a true food nerd's show. It's almost food science.
They'll experiment with a traditional recipe, often substituting ingredients or altering the proportions of certain ingredients based on scientific knowledge of how the molecular structure affects the finished product, often making a dozen or more attempts via trial and error, but always eventually coming up with something better.
Part of what made the show fun to watch though, was the host Christopher Kimball's interaction with his, mostly female cooking staff, or in the segments with his two male product testers.
Sometimes, just to add a real air of goofiness and nerdiness, he'd come out dressed in some ridiculous costume as some food item...
Animal, vegetable or fruit, it didn't matter.
Anyway, turns out he left the show over a year ago and I'm just now finding out. They've been playing all the shows from before he left all this time.
Not gonna be as fun anymore.
