When I first watched this show, I thought it was sorta fake - too much drama, etc. After they did a show at a restaurant a few miles from me & several people got really mad at Gordon Ramsey for fooling them & exposing things customers would rather not know, I realized it's not a fake show. Maybe some things are over-dramatized, (like most reality shows) and I'm sure there is lots of editing, but it is a reality show for the most part. I watched a few episodes last year & I thought the show was too expensive to produce & it ended, but it was on again tonight.
It also explains how I got food poisoning twice in the past 4 years. We never know what goes on in a restaurant's kitchen.

When I watch shows like this, I always think, "Where the hell is the health department?" I know several restaurants in my area have been closed for a couple days by the Health Department, and some that have been given poor marks. It makes the local paper but you have to look for it. I think it's amazing more people don't get food poisoning. All it takes is one careless fry cook.
