I never knew that each full moon has its own name.

Thanks for the info. I knew of the Wolf moon because our local wild animal rescue has a wolf howl on that full moon. we all go out and release our best wolf howl to the moon.
October is my birth month and Orion my guiding constellation. Love the Hunters moon.

The second moon in a two moon month is called a blue Moon. the other blue moon is in August. I think every culture must have a different name for the moons season. I'll bet down under their's has something to do with seasons that are opposite of the Chocktaw.

Blue moon isn’t even on the list. Must mean something else.
A Blue Moon is the 2nd of 2 full moons in a single calendar month.

There’s another definition for Blue Moon. It can also be the 3rd of 4 full moons in a single season, with a season being between a solstice and equinox.

Rare indeed!

How many of us even think about the moon, never mind when it is full. Our ancestors were in tune with the natural world.. They gave names , and were aware of the events in the natural world, that we, "sophisticated moderns" are now totally ignorant. One thing about the chart is "Time of Full Moon". I wondered what that was. I figured a full moon was when the moon was round, like for a day, or so. But the moon only reaches its full moon status for only a few seconds, then it immediately starts getting smaller. Geesh, I had no idea. I'm a sophisticated modern
