I-Phone Help Needed, Please!

Huzz and I both have 3-year-old SE iPhones and his is just about dead (batteries, even new ones, run down really fast; he gets flickering when scrolling, etc.). So we're thinking about getting new phones. Welp, Apple has changed the charging port on the new phones, so that means we're going to have to get new charging cables. The salesgal at the store today said, "Oh, don't worry; you'll get a new cable with each phone you buy." Well, that's hunky dory, but I have eight iPhone charging cables at home and use them all frequently, 2 by the back door that we always leave the house through (1 for a phone, 1 for its charging case), 2 in the main bedroom, 1 in the living room, 1 in the computer room and 1 in each of our 2 vehicles.

And I have 6 USB (A) to USB C adapters, but I've heard maybe that those won't work because although the new iPhones have a USB C port in them, no USB C plug other than an Apple one will work, that Apple's made it just different enough to not work. Does anybody know if that's the case?

I've looked at non-Apple USB A to USB C cables on Amazon but can't find out if they'll work on Apple phones or not; apparently Amazon has decided to do away with their Answered Questions and Ask A Question functions on some of their listings, sigh.

Any help appreciated; thanks.

Are you talking about an Iphone 15 ?
Maybe, according to the salesclerk in the Verizon (our provider) store today, the iPhones 13 and 14 are using the new ports too. If they are not, we'll just get a 13 or 14; but the clerk and half the online stuff I read said they do. So confused...
