I have the same problem. I can eat some meat, egg whites, bread, but if it's something I really like I know not to eat it or I will have abdominal pains for hours, sometimes 2 or more days. I've always been told it's IBS. It does take the joy out of life. I have lost about 30 or 40 lbs in the last 2 years.
