I posted about a BBQ that I left at the curb...

...for my city to pick up being stolen before the city got here. I had a 20# Propane tank that I could no longer use because it had expired and no one would refill it until re certified. I didn't want to go to that trouble so I purchased a new tank and knowing the old bottle could be used (if modified) for air decided someone might want it. I put it to the curb at 9:20. I looked again at 10:30 and it was gone. This time I did have a "free" sign on it. I love our "recyclers".

Reminds me of when I was getting rid of a sofa, put it out by the curb with a "free" sign on it. People actually came to the door asking if they could have it. If I had put a "for sale" sign on it, it would have been goooooone.

We had dumpster divers going thru our recycling bins looking for booze bottles to take in for $ - sadly they can't get in now because the top lid is chained to prevent people getting injured or leaving a mess. People sometimes leave their bottles outside the bins as the bottle collectors still come looking on their bikes.

My major worry is since my wife observed how quickly this worked, she may drug me and put me out at the curb. But can't imagine anyone picking me up so I guess I'm safe.

In our neighborhood , you can set anything out without a "free sign" and it will be long gone, but if you put a free sign on it , it don't get picked up by anyone, go figure. Lol. The is a fellow that drives around on junk day.....I am glad someone can use some of the stuff, I do see a lot of nice stuff sometimes. Like the good old saying goes... "one mans junk is another mans treasure"
