I slipped down metal stairs

Mr. Ed

Be what you is not what you what you ain’t
Location
Central NY
At the end of contained water dives I brought down my bulky mesh bag that holds all of my scuba gear when my feet went out from under me coming down the stairs. The contained water tank is like a barn silo, 8ft across/ 12ft high. To get to the opening on top, you had to climb up scaffolding stairs to the metal platform above the water tank. A steel ladder is used to exit the tank.

Afterward, I packed up my gear in a large mesh bag and started down the stairs. With 5 steps to go, my feet slipped out from under me, jamming my toe into some unmoveable force, while sliding on my right thigh. The next day, a physician viewed my injuries and ordered x-rays for my toe. I return to the health center at 3:00pm for x-rays at the reception, acknowledge me there and told me to sit down and wait until called.

40 minutes passed to learn the receptionist did not check me in. I could either see if there was another opening today, reschedule for tomorrow of forget about it altogether. I opted to forget about it, my toe did not hurt even though swollen I felt it was a lot of bother for nothing.

Next morning, the receptionist called to schedule an x-ray and to apologize for the mixup. All of this time, not my toe, but my thigh is causing me discomfort.

I'm glad you're still here to tell about it, Mr. Ed.

Could have been far worse. As of late I have been reminding myself to "slow down" when descending stairs. One side of my brain tells me I'm still young, while the other reminds me that slips, trips, and falls await me now that I'm older.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Oh dear, @Mr. Ed , I'm so sorry. Please follow up with some xrays. You sure are brave....I wouldn't climbing up and down that tank!
