I Wanted to Go to the River for the Snow Melt Run Off. Then I Read Online About Ticks.

I just finished walking a hiking trail this afternoon. Had a shower and checked for ticks. NADA! Anyway, I feel great about having been outside hiking this afternoon and have made plans to go next Wednesday. Sure beats sitting in some casino with a bunch of unhealthy losers. My choice to be active and healthy in body and mind. There were plenty of other hikers. Many were high school students out on a field trip. Nice to see them. They all said they enjoyed being out there. No one spoke about ticks and lyme disase. We leave that to the media. They know it all!

If you are diligent about checking for ticks right away, there is not a lot of danger. It takes over 1/2 day for disease transmission. And if you should miss a tick for a day, immediate use of antibiotic will take care of you. What can be very bad is ignoring a tick bite that has given you Lymes.
