If aliens came to Earth, what would they think of us?

Would they be impressed by our inventions at all? Well, they would be more sophisticated than we are to travel from a distant galaxy and land safely and remained unobserved by national security so they have an intelligence advantage over us right away, but I think they would find us incredibly petty and self defeating on the whole, hardly worth bothering with when you think of it.

What do you think aliens would think if they met us? I feel I am being harsh but IDK.

If when they 1st. landed at a site where kids were being dropped off from a bus at a school, they would probably be fascinated by our reproduction process.

They would come here with long lists of terrorists, dictators, and all manner of evil beings... and then suck those evil beings into their spaceship to travel to the mother-planet for exploratory lobotomies. It would rid the earth of the worst of society's dregs, so I'd think they would consider us a darn good civilization once they helped us purge the nasties. :alien:

There are all kinds of really old paintings that depicts flying objects in the sky, very similar to what we now classify as a UFO, and once called them “Flying Saucers”. It is hard to understand why people several hundred years ago would have added something like this to a landscape painting or a portrait, unless they actually saw something that looked like this in the sky at times, or at least at one time.

This makes you wonder if species from elsewhere in the universe have not already arrived here, and maybe are even blended with native human species. Even our blood types have caused people to wonder about this, since type O blood is different from any of the other types.

Something I find interesting is that for centuries, we have people riding horses, or having some kind of a cart pulled by an animal, and all of a sudden, everything started to develop a lot more rapidly, somewhere around the end of the 1800’s, and has changed the world dramatically since then, except for a few races of people who live far away from contact with civilization , and these people still live like they have for centuries past.

The aliens were here, and that's why they left!

Intelligent entities technologically capable of traveling from even our closest Milky Way Galaxy star neighbors are not likely to be little green men or gray ones with big heads. That is because anywhere in the universe, carbon based organic lifeforms given the limiting speed of light, would not likely be able to endure the long years through space, just as we humans never will.

And no IMO, there will never be even for ancient intelligent entities billions of years old, be any wormhole hyper light speed travel regardless of how much science fiction and comic book writers demand that. Neither any matter transfer through space ala "Beam me up Scottie". What is far more likely, is being visited by ancient at least mostly non-organic artificial intelligence entities that unless physically destroyed would be essentially immortal. Such robotic lifeforms could easily endure in mostly off suspended animation states, multi hundred year trips between star systems, only waking up for periodic ops checks and maintenance.

The fact we Earth monkeys brains have within but a moment in geological time developed organic brains capable of incredible science in a universe 3 times as old as our Sun solar system with billions of galaxies, each with billions of stars, points logically towards life as ours even if rare, has already occurred many times. And as a result, intelligent organic entities arose that then developed AI just as we are now doing. Once that occurred and those entities over millions of years freed themselves from just existing about single star systems, they were essentially able to exist as a race of entities forever forward.

So what would those visiting AIs think of we homo sapiens? That the planet has incredible, fascinating, wonderful life and probably ought be protected from other advanced entities as a zoo. But once intelligent technological civilization for any creature arises, that visitation should be severely limited just as in Star Trek's prime directive lest cultural contamination occur. The last thing such moral entities would want, is to have had an influence in changing our civilizations that leads us to destruction. But if we humans on our own as it be, achieve stable peaceful existence in harmony with the rest of the planet's life, as well as be technology capable of space travel. Then they may arrive.

Then they can play back from earlier epochs they recorded of some of our history for our own amusement. Like when dinosaurs roamed, the immense creature battles of T-rex chasing all manner of kid's favorites. Or what really happened in our own early civilizations like in Egypt or China. And how they laughed at how Moses recorded various visions they gave him in an attempt to change murderous, warmongering, and immoral tendencies so many of us have. Actually I personally lean towards, some having already been at work on Earth that helped genetically evolve apes into humans. IMO, the Genesis account with a different interpretation than religions push, arguably points that way.

Maybe they'd see us as how their ancestors used to be.

Or maybe they'd see us as delicious if dipped in the right sauce.

I don't know to whom to give credit but I remember two scenarios that always stuck with me.

In the first, a human who has been transported to an alien world discovers a book titled: "How to serve humans!" He is immensely proud of this until he finds out that it is a cookbook!

Scenario two: Aliens observe a human following his dog with a pooper scooper and come to the, not unreasonable, conclusion that the dogs are the intelligent species they should deal with! :ROFLMAO:

Anything intelligent enough to get here would be intelligent enough to stay away. The last thing we have to worry about is aliens. Let's face it. We're the bad neighborhood of the universe. (At least, I hope there's nothing worse out there.)

Thanks everyone for making this thread so funny and fun. This is the main thing I like about humans and why I think we survive so much so well. We have a great sense of humor. I hope we never lose this as a species or the creative spark that fuels it. :giggle:

If they managed to decypher our history books they would flee in horror!

They would most likely watch us play our war games from a distance, like behind the moon so we wouldn't know and they would not care. Party down they said. Seriously, we suck. We have nothing to offer and they got more to do than worry about us. Trivia! .....🍸

They have move onward to a planet in early stages of life supported climate to colonize. Just like they did us.

Why believe we are kind of an accident or supreme being plant is very foolish.

Most of the power structure of earth is about taking what cha want now, today, tomorrow and fore ev ah !
