I was thinking about this earlier today. I would go shopping for a new pair of skis again back when I was in my late 30s and not take the advice of the salesman who talked me into buying some skis that really sucked, but because money was tight, I bought them.
I've come to live by the adage: buy once, cry once. You cry about the money you spent but you're happy about your purchase, so the money thing goes away quickly. But if you buy something you hate, you're pissed off every time you have to use it.
