If you could live your life over, would you do anything differently?

I would probably do a few things differently but one thing for sure, I would not have started smoking. Although I've quit years ago....the damage is done.

Although my career path enabled me to retire early, I didn't enjoy my job. I did enjoy most of the people I worked with over the years. So that helped. Finding something more fun or interesting would be the main thing I would like to do over. Not sure if that is possible as I imagine the most fun job turns into a 'job' after a number of years. If you know what I mean..........

Good question you posed, Selena... I've thought about this many times before... and even though there were some really, really rough roads at times... I don't think that I would do some of the 'big things' differently, even though they were the 'worst of times.'
But I really do believe that what happens to us, happens for a purpose...even though we can't even BEGIN to understand it many times. I would do some of the 'smaller things' differently.... I believe we live many lives, and they are all teaching us something we needed to experience...

Yes, I am! :) My beliefs are probably more than a bit different than the 'regular'... I am metaphysical in my beliefs... but to me, its whatever really 'works' for a person; but if its not working or bringing you happiness or answers... I'm not sure why anyone would pursue ANY belief system, ye know?:)

I would have gone to college right out of high school and stayed there through my PhD. Working 40+ hours a week and pushing through my higher education took a toll in my 20s and early 30s. I would also have gone full-time faculty sooner and skipped some of the years in public accounting and banking.

On a personal note, I would not have gotten married until I found someone who shared my belief system and could provide for me instead of the other way around.

There are a lot of things I wouldn't change.

Yes I'm sure there are things that I would have done differently or not at all but I rarely think about it because on the whole I'm having a good life. One thing I really regret though is starting smoking, just the same as Selena. What a silly thing to do to my body and finances. I too gave up years ago but better never to have started.

Marriage today is like a flip of the coin, you think you know all about your partner but 5 years later you start say " this is not the same guy I married."
