If you like gospel music

I enjoyed hearing the song. That's really old time gospel music like churches had years ago. Sadly, I don't think any churches near me have that anymore.

A while back I discovered this Amish couple on You Tube. I really like them. You might like them too. If this thread is a duplicate, please disregard. I'm doing my best to learn this technology so behind on.

Here's a song that kind of fits in with the style of music being posted today. [I may have posted it elsewhere, but that would have been some time ago; not recently.]

I like that. Some of the older gospel music really humbles me. I was raised on southern gospel. I've been going to church with the pastor and his wife that married me and my husband. It's a Church of Christ. I like the church. They sing a lot but don't use instrumentals. I miss the instrumentals.

Yes, I want instruments. And I still like the church organ, but it's long gone from most churches now. Where I go, they have a keyboard, a pianist, drum player, and guitar player and I'm "lucky" if I hear one song I like.

Recently I discovered an Amish couple who sings on You Tube. Their name is Rose and Ben. Not everyone has the same taste in music, but I just love them. Below is just one of the many songs they sing.
I like your Amish girl, TeePee she sounds a little like Dolly Parton. After her video ended it went into a bluegrass group singing "Scarlet Purple Robe." I liked it, too!

I listen to this Alan Jackson album almost every day. His selections are all old standards that I know the words to and he must sing in my key or something because I find him real easy to sing along with.

They have a great sound!
I'll look into them more later when I have time to.

I must say that I find it odd for an Amish music video to be so sophisticated,
but that might just be my old-school thinking and me being outta touch! 😅

It is kind of odd. I'm not all that familiar with their customs. Maybe they've modernized like most present-day churches have. You used to have organs and pianos and a lot of them have a band with rock type music. Whether legit or not, I've listened to a lot of Rose and Bens videos on You Tube and I like their music.

I wondered the same thing Ted. I know the really strict ones don't even let you take their picture.
Just a few weeks ago I was reading a book from the Kate Burkholder Amish mystery series by Linda Castillo, set in my part of southern Ohio. In it she explained all about the different Amish sects. Within the same area you might have several different types. I wish I could remember the name of the strict ones, but it's already drained out of my little tea strainer of a brain. I can't retain anything these days.

ETA: Swartzentrubers! I knew it was a cute name!

I bought the cd a long time ago. All of the songs are inspiring. Have you seen the video that goes with it?

No I haven't TeePee, I usually listen to those sweet songs while playing cut-throat, online Hearts. What's wrong with that picture?
