Well it all could have some appeal, on a limited basis.

Sounds like a meth or cocaine dealer sales tactic.
 
There's a difference between knowing the difference between reality and being elated / joyful / passionate / creative / a little crazy in a controlled way and being incapable of normal independent life. I knew a homeless man who was in his own world. He stood in the park all day long looking at his hands and clicking his fingernails together. Other homeless people that I worked with told me he was a shell shocked Vietnam war vet. This was before PTSD, so nobody used that term yet, was fully understood. He didn't seem to be having a good time or enjoying his life. He just seemed in need of serious help to recover from whatever trauma he had suffered.

If that is the option, I'll stay sane.
