There are definitely some diary entries I should purge. I threw away all my really old diaries when I sold my house last year, they were both boring and embarrassing. My mom had big notebook diaries of each year for recent times and I only skimmed and took pictures of a few random pages before throwing them out. When my dad died I think my mom must have thrown away most of his diaries, his were notebooks of just short lists of what he was doing (like what he had for lunch).
My paternal grandfather's belongings (in boxes in the garage that I cleaned out before selling the house) were the most interesting, he had a small collection of what I'd call early 1900s porn.

We have someone to look after our dogs if anything happens to us. We don’t have to worry about the cat any more. I miss our 18 year old cat. She was as comfortable as old furniture but much more loving.

I've kept the cards my husband & I have exchanged over the years for birthdays, sweetest day & the like. You know the ones that no else gets to see but the both of you 
. The best ones were from K-Mart (early 90s) when they had a card machine & you could make your own custom card with anything you wanted to write in it.
