I'll pass on these Tatoos

Gates was a smart innovator creating Windows, but since that what has “he” done, not Microsoft? All I can think of is he has taught us how to be a Philanthropist. My wife didn’t need help with that.

Know what song this comes from?

In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lie
Everything you think, do and say
Is in the pill you took today
In the year 4545
You ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
Nobody's gonna look at you
In the year 5555
Your arms hangin' limp at your sides
Your legs got nothin' to do
Some machine's doin' that for you
In the year 6565
You won't need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube

What do you think?

Oh goodness me - yes. 100% yes. I'd be in.

I shocked some people on another forum when there was talk of a certain business offering employees a microchip insert which was used for security. With it, you could open doors, get through security checks, and be monitored as you moved about. I won't give details, but the question asked was - if offered, would you get the chip? I was an instant YES. I was violently in the minority.

When it comes to this idea, I'd be in. Why? Well, Smartphones ARE looking a bit antiquated now. New versions come and go, and the rate of change is minimal. A Smartphone needs precious metals to work, there is a lot of pollution involved in their construction.

Currently, it is estimated that almost 5.5bn Smartphones are discarded every year. That's a lot of trash, a lot of dangerous batteries, and a lot of environmental pollution. Then consider the power to recharge them, the plethora of chargers, cables, and the lack of ability to repair.... phew. The Smartphone has created a lot of waste, along with its benefits.

So yes - I'd be in.

It’s an interesting concept.

I wonder if it could help elderly people remain independent. 🤔

I don’t want to be the first but I wouldn’t rule it out.
What happens if it blows up your gas tank at refill time? ... :coffee: ... I believe I would rather be dead than have Ai in my brain 24 / 7's and giving me dreams of cherries on trees and warm type stuff to nuzzle. I couldn't even go fishing and shty the fuc__ off!

No. I've never liked or trusted Mr. Gates an inch. His goal is to control everyone through fear. It works with most people and he's made himself rich by it. He's not an inventor anyway. He's just a marketer. he didn't create any of his software. Others did and he bought it from them and marketed it for himself.

Not only no, but H#LL NO.

I really don't like having to have a cell phone with me. I don't miss it when I forget it at home. It's nice to be able to not have the dam thing ring when I'm getting errands done. That's why I still have a land line (as long as possible) to do business on with companies, doctors offices, etc. It has also kept nuisance/robo calls on my cell to a very very low level.

If I want anyone to know my business, I'll let them know if I think they need to know. Too much intrusion in our lives now.

I have my phone in a Leather wallet, sort of like a book. ?Shut the ringer off and only have it vibrate. A pain at times I know. Only thing I want to know is if My Lil Woman needs me to respond to her thoughts.

A strange response, imo. How does he "control people through fear"? And what did he do differently than, say, Jobs? Gates was in at the start of the PC revolution, and he led the way in many ways. He's never claimed to be a coder. However, he had the vision.

When I go out, I don't take my phone. I think it's part of an extreme reaction to being contactable 24/7. There was a time where I worried about not being available for ten minutes or more. Now that seems like a curse.

This is a little off topic, but several have mentioned phones. I don't know of anyone personally who is without a phone, but I can hardly ever reach anyone I know by phone. I have to either text or leave a voice mail - then they normally do call me back, but it's hours later, when I'm in the middle of dinner, or in the shower and in no mood for conversation.

Knowing that might happen, I've left a voice mail message sort of like this: "Hi, I was just thinking about you and wanted to talk a bit, but I see you're busy. No need to call me back, all is fine here, and I hope you are too - catch you later another time." - And even then, I will get that dinner or shower time callback.

Maybe they were in the middle of something when I called them first, and that's why they didn't answer - I can understand that - but every time I call them? No, I don't think so.

The whole world knows were not doing anything when
at the dinner table so call ya up then, soon as we can!

I remember when the first cordless phone were, and all
the phone did was ring around dinner time. I shut it off too.

Thinking a society absolutely crazy with chips on the brain
and mail, messages, photos, memories a constant smoken
hot thing going on, blasting to an already insane consciousness.
Ya gotta close your right eye just to see the traffic without some
distorted blurry field of yellow flowers there.
