I'm a grumpy ol' Senior and so is my cat.

I'm a 70 year old guy. My cat is a 16 year old tom cat. One of those pet cites said he and I are statistically at the same stage of life. We live alone together. He's a pain in the ass and so am I. He has to have a "pyramid" of dry cat food piled up in his dish, or he "meows" his head off. I have to have the same food at the same time or the day is shot. When I'm in the bathroom, he has to come in and use the litter box. He gets on his Laz-y-boy chair and I get on mine. And we both fall asleep watching TV.

You guys sound like me and my girls. One is 11, the other is 18. We have girl-bonding bathroom time. We fall asleep watching TV, usually with one cat on top of me and one underfoot. Sometimes we don't even bother to turn the TV on before falling asleep.

I was just sitting on the sofa with my younger girl and she reached out and laid a paw on my hand and gave me one of those eloquent cat looks and I said, "I love you too." Then when I moved to the other room to get back on the computer the other cat came too and is now lying beside me petting me with her tail.

I can't think of a better way to spend your days enjoying your pets. I miss my furry friends,both cats and dogs. I only have my bird left but he sits on my shoulder from morning till night. In the evening he sits in my lap and likes his head scratched. It's like scratching a marble. Then I get my evening snack and he gets his piece of American cheese. He will not eat any other kind. Occasionally he likes white bread, but it must be fresh,he won't touch it if it is over two days old.

Awwww...isn't that sweet!! My dog lays at one end of the couch and I lay at the other.
