I'm getting responses on things I listed on Marketplace asking me to text them.

It's all some people do. But if you are not comfortable, just tell them you don't text.

And as hollydolly stated, don't do anything you are uncomfortable with or if something doesn't seem right. When I got my cats as kittens off craig's list, I met the woman at a Walmart parking lot.

To my way of thinking, people who can only communicate by texting are "communicative-challenged. They want to run all their businesses in 1 line sentence. I prefer a regular computer with a regular keyboard because I can write pages and pages. Try that on your "stupid" phone.

By the way, meeting face-to-face when selling something is good. However, if I was a female, I would prefer to meet in a mall or some well known coffee shop. You never know when the person you meet to sell something has a ton of mental issues.

Here we go again..

Posted a Sharp 6200 BTU window AC on Marketplace and almost immediately received 15 messages "Is this still available?" Checking the profiles revealed that are very new members, have blank profiles (no photos and or personal info) and ask for my phone or post one for me to call. I state in my ads that anyone requesting my phone number or posting one for me to call, does not elaborate on "Is this item still available?" or that has a blank profile will be ignored - but what a nuisance!

Some posts say “I WILL AUTOMATICALLY DELETE any ‘is this item still available’ inquiries.” Even if someone does want to ask that, they can send a regular text with a question.
