In Defense of North America

In Defense of North America

Interesting links. Good or bad I think it is more like "Defense of the U.S. Government." Who is going to defend the public. We can call 911 but the reality is no ones coming we are on our own.

There have been many accurate as well as the usual SHTF tin foil hat assessments of post nuclear war scenerios as to who is daring enough to open the doors to their climate controlled bunkers and let the massess in or to come out to help us starving radiation sick civilians. IMHO in the end NORAD Cheyenne Mountain/Peterson AFB will not have enough life sustaining foodstuffs alone to ride out the aftermath of a global nuclear attack. Many informed as well as us regular Joes and Janes will think ground zero is the least painfull choice. It gives us pause as I would hope our leadership would. Thanks for your post.

My assignment to the island where Corba Dane was built, was one of the most
interesting times in my career.

When it came on-line, it could track 12,000 space objects at a time.
It was used for the SALT II arms limitation Treaty.

Pretty sure it was a not a 'Game' and actually kept the Peace, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

When the US abandoned their Canadian DEW line bases, they left behind TONS of garbage, including generators that contained cancer causing materials. They refused to clean it up, until the Canadian Government threatened to sue them in the International Court at The Hauge. They dragged their feet for decades. The US finally acted to remove the junk. The same thing happened with the USAF bases in Labrador. Tons of junk, and it took years to get them to remove it. JImB.

lot of money and time being spent on war games and not enough on peace?
Can't have peace in a world with the huge disparities in 'haves' and 'have-nots', climate change causing 10's of millions to lose everything they have and forced to relocate, if they can. The world is becoming increasingly displaced, homeless, starved, and impoverished.
End of rant..... As the alien said in Independence Day, "no peace".

I agree with you both but IMHO governments make billions in times of conflict just as long as it stays conventional. If a theater conflict remains in conventional mode only and off NATO soil all is good. Any escalation involving any of the three WMD on NATO soil all bets are off. Thanks for posting.

I think the ozzies are happy that the yanks are with them downunder during these uncertain times with threats being made in the SC seas against Taiwan and maybe Japan and the rest of smaller nations in the same area. Then we have that crazed despot firing off rockets that sometimes work and not but again within reach of other nations - from N.Korea. Yes in uncertain times it's good to have your allies backing even if you don't agree with all their home politics.
