I am sure it is part of being old but I have started to have issues with leakage of urine and stuff. I have to start wearing adult diapers. And I put stuff under me on my bed and chair. When I was in rehab, I was reccomended AZO, a bladder support product whis is supposed to decreas frequency and urgency to go. Does not always seem to help.
Any other suggestions?

Marie I'm sorry you're suffering, that cannot be pleasant for you... but can I ask you to stop saying you're OLD.. you're the same age as me, and in no way would I describe myself or anyone in their mid to late 60's as old... ;):D

Do you exercise? It helped me. Not pelvic floor exercises or anything specific -- just exercise in general

(Although I'm sure the specific exercises would help too.)
Not much I can add, but exercise is essential for quality of living. Seniors classes are sooo beneficial, and they are fun! Making friends, seeing your friends at the gym is a big boost.

There may not be any fitness center nearby, the next best thing is online classes, free on Youtube.
Here's a video I just came across at random, just a little over 4 minutes. This is for real.

Urinary incontinence does not happen only because you are old.
(and you are NOT old). Can you get to an urgent care or your doctor and maybe be checked for a Urinary tract infection?

I had similar symptoms as you are when I was in my 50s. Turned out I had a UTI with none of the pain, burning that we think as usual for that.

Have you been eating anything lately that might cause this?
Not that I am aware of . The issue started while in rehab and worsened since. I am speculating something here..bear with me. when I was in rehab, mostly bedridden after surgery I was wearing adult diapers, because, well, bedridden, could not walk to toilet. Could that have caused this issue, as I never was this bad before

Started going to the Y 5 five or so years ago, at least three Pilates classes a week with 30-50 minutes of stationary bike plus weights on the same days. It does make a huge difference. But since the pandemic I haven’t been back. Now I feel so much weaker. I still walk every day but not a lot plus stationary bike very occasionally but no weights here. I know what I need to do but my wife has been told she can’t afford any risk of Covid infection and that won’t likely change. Therefore I can’t afford to get it either. I try to stay active but boy it sure is easier to go to a scheduled class and to use their equipment while I’m there.

I saw in another thread that you are taking a diuretic. Maybe that is causing issues? Try taking half the dose or talk to your doctor about it.

I know that we all have preferences and might even hate some kinds of exercise. But you seem to have a stationary bike you can use. There are other things you could try as well, such as getting more equipment (new or used), going up and down stairs, or doing exercise videos on YouTube. Good luck.

Have you changed anything in your diet?

I decided to add Gatorade zero to my water and with in a few weeks I had to go to the bathroom to urinate almost uncontrollably. I did the same as you pads and such.

Well I decided to stop adding it in and it has almost gone.

I found I have the same reaction when I add salt to my water. I also find that if I drink too much water.

How long does Caruso's Wee Less take to work?

Well, I was reassured after reading in Caruso's product description that Wee Less supports bladder health and function. After trying it for a month, I can confirm that it really helps. Not from the first day, but after about 10 days, I noticed a definite improvement.
Wee less can buy here in Australia, not sure if available in your neck of the woods.

I would definitely see your doc for several reasons. It could very well be a UTI causing this, and I could be wrong but havings to wear diapers for a time could have contributed. Bacteria travel and cause a UTI. Good to have your A1C checked too-diabetes can cause that too.And it could be just something that`s come on with age,but there are things they can do about it now!

My wife has the same problem and also received that bladder support. It didn't work. Nothing really works that well. She grew tired of all the talk of how maybe a certain operation would help. She refused the surgery. It seems it isn't all it's cracked up to be. You're gonna have to learn to live with it and be prepared. Let's put it this way: Welcome to The Golden Years.

Bladder control: Medications for urinary problems - Mayo Clinic

Marie, I'm very sorry to hear you are experiencing this. Perhaps an appointment with your doctor would help. They'd first check you for infection. That medication oxybutynin (ditropan) is highly not recommended. It's an old drug with side effects but I think they push it because it's cheap
I have to say ditropan is effective though, but gives you a slightly dry mouth.

I am going to call Monday to make an appt. I am going to tell them I can wait until next month to go. I have other issues too. I had to call 911 using my button yesterday I have been having some breathing issues, at night especially. They did all kind of tests, Covid (negative), a chest X ray, blood work. Found nothing, They said to see doctor about tweaking my anxiety meds...as I have been on the same dose for years. May need to take more. Anxiety could cause these issues.
It sucks to get older

Oh, need to tell you about the not so pleasant ending to my ER visit. I did not have a way home. No cab service, etc. At discharge, the nurse mentioned calling me a UBER, Brought me to the ER waiting room, 30 mins or so, still no Uber. She came out a couple times, said nothing .
Finally I called my niece (lives 30 mins away) , She did not know what to do, so she called her day. Followed by a series of calls to ER from Julie AND her dad. Turns out the nurse was just going to let me sit there overnight (after 10PM by this time) until morning when the could get a ride for me. Julie called UBER and got me a ride.
My brother is royally ticked. No one messes with his little sister. I pity them.
