Increased Suicides Means Increased Police Hiring For Golden Gate Bridge

The increasing number of suicides off the Golden Gate Bridge has lead to increased hiring of police officers to help prevent some of them.

I remember riding bikes across the bridge about 20 years ago and the suicide help lines stationed at different places along the bridge.

I don`t think the "No Jumping" signs are for would be suicides. They are for the idiots (read young males) who think they could jump for the thrill of it and survive.

I really enjoy driving over that bridge. I did so just this past summer. It was a weekend, so the bridge was crowded, as usual.

I remember the first time I flew into SF and the view of the bridge, etc. Awesome!!!!

Oh, yes. I flew into and out of SFO many, many times. Taking off & landing; we used Runway 10L or 28R, (I think), then a slight turn north on takeoffs as we started our climb and there below us was the Golden Gate Bridge and San Quentin. We even turned west on occasions and went out over the Pacific before coming back in over land. The direction of the wind determined which way we turned on takeoffs.
