Information on Solar Panels

Yes, we have had them since 2011. They are great and have saved us much money over the years. We did not go through any
energy program, though. We bought them ourselves and had a solar company install them.

Plenty of people have them here in the UK. Our farming friends recently had them installed in the belief that they're going to pay for themselves in 4 or 5 years - and their house is going to increase in value. I fear that they are being over optimistic.

The N of Scotland is not exactly the sunniest place and installing the panels, inverter etc.. still costs quite a bit. Most figures suggest a payback time of 10 years or more and simply having solar panels is only a minor factor in determining the value of a house.

There were schemes in the UK where panels would be installed free, but they remained the property of the installer and the homeowner only had a small saving. The owners of the panels were effectively renting the roof.

This is completely random, and no I haven’t been drinking. šŸ˜‚ In fact,I just got up and will blame my mistake on the fact that I’ve barely woken up and had only a sip of coffee so far.

I read the title of this thread as ā€œInformation on solar p***sā€.

I know! šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø My befuddled mind tried to comprehend the ramifications and workability of such a body part being solar! It was a confusing few seconds šŸ˜‚
