Inside a Hornet's Nest

I know one thing, their stinger is quite thick and hurts like crazy going in and coming out.
 

Oh Gawd she wouldn't think it was cool if she got stung by one of those blerry things.:eek1: I have only ever fainted once in my life, and that was one summer day about 30 years ago, I was wearing a mini skirt walking through the mustard rape field with my friend and our children and this huge Hornet flew up my skirt and stung me on the top of my inner thigh. I felt the pain and my friend said OMG you've just been stung by a Huge Hornet, then within seconds I felt dizzy and passed out for about a minute right there in the field ... ooooh that is not something you wanna be stung by that's for sure..
 
That must have been horrible, holly. We once had a hornet's nest over our front door for a while. It was amazing how fast that nest grew. The hornets were big huge black things, very scary. It didn't bother us, but a kid visiting who was very active, got stung. An exterminator had to remove it and we were told to stay away from the house while they were doing it.

Gawd a Hornets nest anywhere near my front door would be exterminated immediately.. Whenever I see a hornet now , I'm out of it's way quicksmart..
 
That video was fascinating and also a bit eerie. Yes, those stingers hurt! One was inside my nightgown and when I leaned back against a straight-backed chair it got me right on the spine. I believe I did scream.
