Interesting channels I am finding on my TV.

@Em in Ohio I sure hear your wow! :) It's ridiculous what they charge. And I should add, that I have expanded basic only for the cable. Nothing premium and the jerks have taken channels away from the package I get.

I guess they make the money off the idiots like me who don't know how to get the other stuff. But if my TV goes out, I'll probably be able to utilize some of those other services with a newer TV. But I hope the TV I have keeps going.

Thanks for your reply. I've looked at a number of threads about dumping cable including on Reddit. They actually have a sub about it there. I could call and they will usually give you a reduction. But you have to stay for a year. If I ever move, I'd have to continue the service. I've thought if I ever do move, just dumping it and then you can start as a brand new customer in six months I believe.
If you don't transfer service, then yes, you'd be a new customer.

Right now, Comcast has a benefit program if you're on a fixed income. They reimburse you $30 a month after you make your monthly payment in full. It's a temporary benefit....I think you have to re-apply every 6 months, or maybe annually.

Just for the record, Comcast Flex, which I believe is free to Comcast customers, will connect you to a variety of streaming services, but most, after a brief trial period, will require a subscription.

@Murrmurr Not on a fixed income yet. But thank you for that information. I'm all for taking advantage of any way to save money. Drives me nuts that some of the thrift stores ask to donate change. I always say "no thanks" sometimes adding "I have too many cats to feed." I often volunteer to give the change to our PAWS store but they never ask for it.

@ElCastor Thank you for that information also. If I call for a cheaper rate, I can ask about that. Seriously there is nothing on TV especially considering what I pay. :(
