International Left Handers Day is an international day observed annually on August 13 to celebrate the uniqueness and differences of left-handed individuals. The day was first observed in 1976 by Dean R. Campbell, founder of the Left-handers Club.

One of my sisters is left handed, the only one in a family of 5 kids... neither parent was a lefty nor grandparents...

Lots of lefties talk about how in the past they were forced by teachers to use their right hand, but my sister who is now almost 63 never experienced any of that !

In one of my classes in junior high, the desk extension was on my right side which made things more difficult for me. I turned my body halfway round so I could write on desk.
