Interstellar Visitors: Benevolent or Malevolent?

I think they see our world now on a rapid path of elimination of mankind.
This affects all worlds and all space. They can't have that.
They are, of course, of higher intelligence and of a higher evolution.
They will try to help us return to normality and harmony over the Earth IMO.

Haha! Anyone remember the "Twilight Zone", where they were give a book called "How to serve man."
but after they loaded people on their spaceship, the people found out it was a cookbook?

I am beginning to fear what's coming our way from beyond the stars more than WWIII. To Serve Man was just as good as The Zanti Misfits.

Many experts now including some key at NASA, expect visitors won't be like most science fiction has written or portrayed. No they are not likely to be green big headed bug eyed beings. Actually not organic beings at all but rather more likely to be ancient evolved artificial intelligent entities. This is due to a huge recent paradigm shift after our science and technology in just a few decades has shown even we Earth monkeys are soon likely to create artificial intelligence with consciousness. In an amazingly short time. Such AIs given unlimited access to memory of all knowledge we human's have accrued, are certain to be able to go beyond what we organic beings are capable of understanding. Once they also gain the mechanical robotic abilities of we humans, they will be able to independently improve without we organics.

Another facet of the issue is given the limitation of light speed, the average distance between stars in our galaxy in this universe is so immense that non-organic AIs are far better suited for such travel without life support, just turning themselves off. Additionally, there are many radiation dangers far more destructive to organics. Also scattered matter debris dangers moving through space at high speeds that will further limit practical speeds. Of course, those sci-fi fans without much science background may blurt out, what about warp drive, what about deflector shields? Well that, much like Scotty-like matter beaming, time travel, and the hollow deck, are arguably probably never ever going to be possible.

IMO, they've already been here, probably billions of years ago. They might have inventoried all possible planets in the galaxy capable of supporting DNA organic life which they spread. Then engineered colliding our moon into the young Earth for a list of beneficial reasons, planting algae into our oceans to terraform over 2 billion years our atmosphere from no oxygen to oxygen, Cambrian explosion panspermia, and created a zoo world, they silently monitor.

The Fermi Paradox:

Italian-American physicist Enrico Fermi's name is associated with the paradox because of a casual conversation in the summer of 1950 with fellow physicists Edward Teller, Herbert York and Emil Konopinski. While walking to lunch, the men discussed recent UFO reports and the possibility of faster-than-light travel. The conversation moved on to other topics, until during lunch Fermi blurted out, "But where is everybody?"

We won't know until they actually arrive...again. I have a sneaking suspicion they planted us here billions of years ago and have been watching our evolution. We are such a violent "breed", we may be the "rejects" they didn't want in their world. Mind boggling but fun to think about all kinds of scenarios.

At least we have got past the question 'Do UFOs exist'? Now we need to know who they are and what their intentions are. Judging by the number of sightings there has been, they seem to want us to know that they are watching us, but not what their intentions are. I think all the various myths and legends we have are based on visitors from space. They used to inter-act with mankind but, if the tales are correct, there was a battle between two warring factions and they seem to have withdrawn. The creatures which crashed in Roswell, seem to have been living beings, not robots, but if they crashed, it doesn't say much for their technology!

I suppose it depends on the point of view, sort of like bringing Christianity and civilization to the heathens of the world.

Based solely on our own history, I doubt that we would be able to get along.

I'm not an expert, but I've never known of nor heard of wild animals or domesticated animals that harm, attack, kill just for the sheer kicks of it.. like some 'humans' do.
No expert here either, so I did some quick Google research and the answers were interesting. Apparently meerkats are the most likely to commit murder, most so than we are. However all primates have a tendency to violence, so ours goes back a ways. Interesting read:

Humans: Unusually Murderous Mammals, Typically Murderous Primates

And a more technical one:

That's interesting.
But with animals, aren't their acts of violence usually for a reason, rather than senseless/random?

Watching our evolution…darn they must be ready to give up just about now ( sorry couldn’t resist)
