Hi there,

I'm Michael, a young 62 years (63 next month). I was laid off in '08, and so began the proverbial 2nd career.

As you'll see in my profile, I'm interested in almost everything. :)

Looking particularly to discuss spirituality in "seniors", i.e. how your beliefs have developed (or fallen apart), how they change, etc. (Is there an appropriate forum for that?)

Then again, I also like to talk about shotguns and motorcycles and guitar and blogging and also quite few other, more boring, topics.

Thanks for reading.

Welcome to the forum Michael. Perhaps you start a thread on Intuitive, Practical Life Coaching. I'm interested in specifically what that means.

Thanks to all of my welcomers.

Very nice forum you have here. I'll be posting for sure - and try not to p*ss off too many people. :)

Hello Michael and welcome! It isn't likely you'll tiss any of us off - lol lol

I'm originally from both sides of the OH/PA border and a little familiar with Central PA. Belonged to ABATE of PA for a few years and was state sec'y for two of them. That was another lifetime during which I kept one foot firmly planted on the centerline:daz:

Hi Rider,

LOL, I know what you mean by the centerline. I never quite fit in with either lane either...but the centerline can also be a dangerous place! :)

ABATE was/is a fine organization; although I'd never ride without a helmet, I figure others' heads are in their own hands, so to speak.

I was always pro-choice until it came to my son; his choice was my choice and that was "put a helmet on that head or the keys are mine" - lol lol

We always wore helmets whether it was the dirt bikes, road bikes or snowmobiles. I still have a 4-wheeler but it's for checking fences and pulling the manure wagon so I don't wear a helmet and you won't catch me wearing one on my horse either - I'm just one big helmet contradiction - lol lol

We also put on motorcycle safety courses that were state approved. My son grew up on dirt bikes but I told him "no safety course, no road bike". He was ok with that as long the instructor was from our county chapter - lollol

We lobbied for fair insurance rates for the big CC bikes, too. It wasn't as much of an issue on my side of the state as it was "over the mountain" toward Philly. I am thinking it was Bucks County that really had some insurance ethics issues when it came to insuring motorcycles but that was eons ago and I've slept many times since then - lol

Yes, the centerline can get be a piece of trouble if one isn't paying close attention - lollol
