Is $13 too much to pay for a fried pickle?

I have a gift card to a local restaurant. I was going to take my aunt out so I can use it since I've had it about a year and a half and it's between our birthdays. I was looking at an online menu. I haven't eaten out in so long I was a little surprised at how much prices have gone up. A dill pickle is $13???? That maybe be reasonable if the pickle is 18 inches long.

My Grand Daughter aged 26 buys big dill pickles covered in chocolate and sprinkles for 8 bucks..... crazy!
... And people act shocked when I mention chocolate covered bacon! I can't even imagine what a pickle would taste like covered in chocolate. 🤢

As for your original question, Deb... pretty sure that $13 for a pickle is a tad overpriced. Maybe if it would come with another lunch item or two.

The price is in line with the other prices for appetizers.

If people weren't buying it because of the expense, then either the price would come down or it would be taken off the menu.
So... the patrons must think it is worth the price!

Chocolate covered potato chips are awesome (and I thought they sounded awful until I had them) but choco dill pickles? Never heard of that one.

However, I have had deep fried pickles but they are slices generally so maybe it's sliced.

Everything is up in price these days.

I am not a fan of dill pickles really BUT one time before a trip at an airport hotel the night before flying out, many years ago, we met a young couple and started drinking with them, I forget where they were headed, actually I think they were just there for the weekend, maybe her birthday or something and we just kind of hit it off... Anyhow they ordered deep fried pickles and I was never a fan but that night they tasted great but then I was hungry lol. They were pretty good.

Anyhow I'd think it would be slices but who knows...

Looking forward to the report on the food, whatever is chosen.

$8.50 for fish & chips is a GREAT price. It makes me wonder what type of fish it is.
Deb just finished saying the fish and chips are $21
I speak Aunt Bea because our minds work the same way. Figure two fish & chips meals costing $42. Subtract the $25 gift card and come to $17. Divide that by two and it's $8.50 per person for fish and chips.

I've never had a fried pickle.. probably wouldn't want one.. but it seems a teeny bit expensive at $13.

Those Tavern fries for a buck and a half sound good. You could get 15 orders of them for $22.50 and the remaining $2.50 should be enough to cover the sales tax.
