Is a shawl a shawl?

I advertised this shawl for sale on Facebook. It was clearly stated it was a shawl. One woman responded "Is it a scarf or vest?" I replied that it was a shawl. Then she answered "I'll pass." Why the confusion, don't people know what a shawl is?

I know what that is I like them , your price is low it would cost that much to ship it. . I just think if they are younger they will call it a wrap which sounds silly.

I think the way it is hanging on the hanger, it is hard to tell if it is a shawl or a vest - maybe have it shown flat out as a rectangle, or being worn.

Well,while it could look like a vest,you clearly stated that it was a shawl,so there shouldn`t have been any question IMO.

The younger generation would call it a wrap. I would call it a shawl.

My grandma always wore a shawl. That's the name I would call it. I wonder how many kids know what a " cloak room" is?

I bet she wanted to wear it with some uggs. I agree with Mrs Robinson, you listed as a shawl, not a vest, so it should have been understood, but, I can see her wanting it to be a vest, it would look nice pared with some boots, jeans and fringed vest. I like the fringe.

I agree it looks like a shawl. Would be pretty wrapped around a sweater or light coat.
