People are tired of paying exorbitant prices for cable T.V. Two of my friends told me about Kodi, a free media center app. I was resistant to using it at first because it seemed complicated. I admit there is a learning curve involved. I went to YouTube to learn how to set it up and load the add ons/repositories that allow one to watch programming. Kodi is in use globally so that many of the add ons are from foreign countries. I have found all my favorite shows from several different channels, the latest movies, news programming and they have a lot of sports add ons. My husband just bought me a pre-loaded MXQ-Pro T.V. box so we can use Kodi on the T.V. I also use it on my tablet. The Amazon Firestick is also Kodi capable. You can play your music from Kodi as well. Here's more about the app: https://kodi.tv/about/

I briefly checked into Kodi about a month ago for movies. I seemed too complicated for me

I use Roku to stream from the internet; Netflix and Amazon and I watch a lot of what I like on Youtube. To be honest, there is not one show on network or cable TV that I actually liked well enough to miss.

That's EXACTLY what I said to my friends who told me about it so I held off using Kodi for a few months. I was using free streaming apps Show Box then Cartoon HD. Both of them started getting real glitchy. I went on You Tube and found a couple of videos that tell you everything you need to know about how to download the app and add your repositories, step by step. They were invaluable but I admit it is a process and patience is needed. I'm so glad I was patient and now have access to all this programming. I cancelled Netflix and will cancel Hulu Plus when my billing period ends. BTW Netflix and other network programming can be accessed via Kodi. Here is one of the videos...I like MChanga. She posted clear, concise, knowledgeable tutorials. I watched a few before I found hers that I certainly can't say that about them. https://youtu.be/0W6Ppo0qxSI?list=PLnov7gu1mKWnCyFIAGedQzk4PTmIK7i8-

Thanks,Diva...looks good. I've bookmarked it. When I get interested in cable or network TV offerings again I'll be trying this. For now, I'm too in love love with Youtube's, travelogues, food, history and other things they have.

There is a lot of good stuff on YouTube. All the newer stuff is HD and more and more is 4K. When I get my 80" 4K smart TV I'll be able to just connect it to my wifi. I dropped pay TV years ago.

You're welcome. I LOVE YouTube too! Bob is right also...lots of good stuff there. I conveniently set up my play and watch lists via my Google-YouTube account.
