Is it possible to live without expectations?

We expect or predict certain outcomes based on previous outcomes of the same event. If we turn the water faucet to the left, we expect water to flow from the faucet. If we turn on a stove burner, we expect the burner heat.

Same with people, we learn from experience, predictable outcomes from interacting with people. We cannot see the future, but we become we become accustomed to individual responses, therefore we expect specific outcomes with correct stimuli and receptor..

Living without expectation is simply living without knowledge of any predictable outcome. Like a newborn babe, but stronger and able to move about. Essentially, every day would be a new adventure, however, we wouldn't mature because we would start from scratch every single morning.

I guess living without expectation is not a good idea, although it would be eventful to live as if meeting someone for the first time without prejudice or predetermined assumptions.

I had absolutely no expectations as a child, no dreams..I was just too busy surviving...It took me a long time to get out of that mindset, and realise expectations and dreams were for me as well as other people...

Just be prepared when expectations are not met. If the water fails to flow or the stove fails to light do not panic. Simply change the expectation into repairing the problem. In other words, be flexible.
