Just curious about whether my thoughts on it are true:

A poll to see how we compare~

Before my husband passed last December our sex life was very good and to be honest I really miss it. I am not saying it was the only thing in our relationship, but it kept our relationship vibrant.

I voted 'important' just for the fact that there's still a deep bond and closeness in the relationship. As a senior in general it's not that important to me personally, if something happened to my husband, I could easily do without it and not miss or need the act itself.

I burned extremely hot as a young man, adequate through my 40's then I really slowed down through my 50's and 60's after that sex was just something I used to do...I am sexually retired.....sorry ladies.

I understand...lol :)

Not as athletic as a decade or so ago, or as often, but frolic is as indispensable to me as water

I s’pose I could live without it, and may one day

But right now, touching my mate, and her touching me, is the dessert of life itself

She still shudders at the feel of my calloused hand on the small of her back

…and that…sends me

Coming together is so crucial, in whatever form or ability
We’ll do that to our dying day

After that, if I’m the one still topside….I’ll write about it

If she is, my hope is it’ll all put a smile in her heart when she recalls our times

I don't know how to answer the poll.

It's very important to me, but not for the act itself since menopause has pretty much flatlined those physical feelings. It's the closeness, the tactile, the skin on skin, that gives me the rush, but it's emotional and spiritual, not physical.

^^This. I don't usually discuss my sex life as I feel it's in poor taste, but there is definitely still a close bond with my husband. "Still crazy after all these years." :D

Lol, that ship sailed years ago. Besides with my medical problems such activities were impossible. Since the discovery of three inoperable aneurysms, two in the brain, keeping the blood pressure low, at all times,is critical. Since husband wasn’t into me dying at home, let alone in bed in such circumstances, he was fine with no sex.

Due to my medical problems, we haven’t shared a room in years.

So sorry you have such medical problems.

All this kinda reminds me of a song "This is my once a year day" from "The pajama (pyjama) game".;););)
Funny, Capt :)
