Is your cell phone too big ?

7 yrs ago, when I was still working my brother&sister, co-workers strongly suggested I get a cellphone, they were concerned knowing I walked to work in the dark especially in winter.{when the time changed for daylight savings}
I bought a 'pay as you go' flip phone.
When I was thinking of getting a new one,I tried the Consumer Cellar flip phone.It was too big,very confusing to use. I have no desire to buy a IPhone or Smart Phone. I take my cellphone everywhere with me including when I take my daily walks Sue

lol - 16 hours a day? I've never known anyone who does this. But if I did I'd call them "people" or "folks", or "Sir" or "ma'am", or even better, by their name. :)

Ken - I doubt if she would be willing - it was 11 degrees in Buffalo this morning. I did take my morning walk here, the temp was only 42 but I dressed accordingly. Did 2.1 miles, 4,469 steps and my time was 39:56:17.
 
I had to also do that on my landline when I made a 911 call. So it is no different for a cell phone.

Like you, after debating with myself for about 5 years, I gave up the landline. As you said most of the calls were from telephone salesmen anyway. Finally realized I was spending dollars every month that I got not use out of I have never missed the landline. Wish I had given it up long before and saved lots of money.
 
I have my first iPhone; it is a 8+. My two oldest granddaughters moved in with me and after observing them using their iPhones, I became convinced the iPhone was the way to go. So far, I love everything about it. I can even set my home thermostat with it.
 
I downsized to an iPhone SE. In the rugged protective case I bought for it, it snaps easily into place on a belt clip. I don't want to put a phone in my pocket after hearing and seeing quite a few horror stories. I figured that it was more important to have the phone with me all the time than to have the few benefits a larger size would give.
 
I am not a big phone talker; I do take my cell with me wherever I go, but I seldom use it, and I do not use it while I'm walking along, like some people do. I had a guy step off the curb mid-block right in front of my oncoming car this evening. He had his head down looking at his phone and didn't even look before he stepped off. If I had been just a few feet closer to him when he stepped off, he would have been roadkill. Scared me half to death. Don't some people have any concern about their own safety??

Hi HootN Annie,I've been walking in 'bone chilling' temps for years. I take every precaution,wear 2 layers of clothing including long under wear. Sue
 
My phone was a bit to big. It was a 6" Moto G4. My phone before that was a 5" Moto G(0). I had a cpl problems with the G4 and partially because it's to big to fit into some pockets, I replaced it with a 5.5" Moto E4, which I'm really happy with.
I have a slight speech impediment (which I'm only conscious of when on the phone) so I greatly prefer to text rather than talk on the phone.

I ported my home # to an old (3g) cell phone on Page Plus (carrier) and cancelled my '$$ land line'. I had to get a monthly plan to open the account but now I'm on no plan and pre-pay for minutes and texts. It's running about $2.50 a month. I like having another number to give to businesses and being able to use the 'home' phone when my 'cell' phone is being charged. And now I've got voicemail on the 'home' #.
 
My cell phone bill is way too big. I am being charged $82 a month by Verizon. I switched to Consumer Cellular and I am paying $25 a month for the same service that Verizon gave me.

Verizon won't cancel my service. I feel like I am being robbed?

Me too. I rarely ever use my cellphone to make calls. It's for emergency only.
 
I have an iPhone 6S Plus. I put it in an Otterbox case for better protection. I wanted a larger phone because I thought it would be easier for me to read the text. I still need to drag out my bifocals!
