Isn't Technology Wonderful, or is it?

How do you pay for parking your car in town?

Over here there are many ways to do this, coins in a meter,
Credit/Debit Card in a meter, or by phone.

One Lady in a town called Swindon isn't too happy with the modern
technology after she was charged £6,500+ that is $9947.76+ for one
hour in a Council run car park, .

Full Story Here.

Yikes!!!!

We don't have those machines yet, just the ones that take coins. But I rarely pay as there is plenty of free parking in town.

If we are only discussing parking meters then I would tell everyone that I have seen many different varieties of meters that take money several different ways, including cash, credit cards, tokens, vouchers and prepaid parking meter cards that the bearer would scan the bar code under a infra red light.

However, as for the question asked by the OP, I would say "Yes" that technology has been wonderful. Just imagine what the next 100 years will be like.

The stuff shown by "HAG-TV" which I glimpse walking by, being watched by my wife: Big Apple for instance, you BUY a parking space, part of the mortgage, bank makes interest on cost of parking, some spaces $50,000 or more!

A joke, AFAIC. imp

In California, if you have handicapped plates or a placecard you don't have to put $ in the parking meters and you can park in some of the places regular Joes can't. My husband didn't believe me and kept putting $ in the meters till I got online and showed him.

Imp, what in the heck is Hag-TV? Something derogatory to the ladies? Just a guess.

I park my car wherever I can get away with...if it isn't putting coins in a meter too complicated
