It’s 9 pm here. Tomorrow at 1.00 we have the first full family gathering in over a year since Covid fractured the family get togethers. And what is my sweet husband doing? Is he helping me prep the food? Cleaning? Helping me cook? In bed like he would normally be at this time? No. <sigh> No he’s not. He is instead painting the kitchen ceiling! 🤦🏼‍♀️😂🤷‍♀️

9:00 the hubby and I are in our recliners. I'm usually asleep with the heating pad on my sore leg muscles, and he is watching TV. At 10 pm hubby locks the doors and we both head for bed. I read for several hours and he falls asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow.
@Ronni enjoy your family gathering and that beautiful freshly painted ceiling..

I visited a friend who has been happily married for fifty years yesterday, and he and I sat enjoying the sunshine as his wife returned from grocery shopping, and carried the heavy shopping bags up the sloping path, (two trips in fact!).
We lazy devils just watched her, though in fairness to my friend he's older than I am and a little less mobile so he has an excuse, but we did have the awareness to admit to being embarrassed about not offering to help, and she took it in good part saying, "Yes, its been noted you sat there watching"! :)

I don't have a partner but have my companions--bird and dog and they are listening to music with me and doggie is napping too.
I have birds and guinea pigs. I often play music but the birds remain silent. I don't usually watch the tv church service but last Sunday, I didn't turn off the tv after the previous programme. As soon as the congregation started singing hymns, my birds joined in and were singing away! It seems I've got little Christian budgies!

Going to church, where he leads the music. While I stay home and surf the internet while listening to Alan Jackson's gospel album. Not quite the same.

After 9 PM, we're usually in bed falling asleep to a recorded program from the National Geographic channel - most often one of the zoo programs (i.e., from Chester UK, Tampa, Columbus, North Carolina, Taronga Australia, etc.)
