It’s time to see if robots can take over the culinary world…

It doesn't present very well to me, at this time and in my ignorance of the science to create "chicken". That may change for me in the future. I need to finish the whole article and more.

Just for now, the author touched on:
“Instead of all of that land and all of that water that’s used to feed all of these animals that are slaughtered, we can do it in a different way,” said Josh Tetrick, co-founder...."

That land.... wonder what the greedy corporations will fill up that land with?

I'm not AI fan at all. Some of the art is beautiful but AI doesn't understand things like 5 fingers on a hand or even the shape of a hand. Lots of it looks like a freak show.

At the Creator restaurant in San Francisco, artificial intelligence aims to create a perfect burger using only the freshest ingredients. The robot makes the customizable burger from start to finish and could be the future of the restaurant industry.

Yay!! Less jobs, higher profits, lower prices initially for eating out until robotic restaurants are everywhere. Then start the inflationary increases on eating out prices.

It's like when cable TV had no commercials to entice subscribers. Then little by little commercials showed up. Then subscription prices went up until finally people had to cut the cord.

Maybe at some point after robotic restaurants are the norm, some company will advertise that their restaurants have "people prepared dishes" as if it was a novelty.

Maybe you pay extra if you want it people prepared.

I'm sorry.
No offense taken and no reason to be sorry. "AI + Food = ?" is a new and unknown territory, and we all struggle with the challenge to figure out how it will work to the benefit of all. Thanks for your posts. All opinions are welcome and appreciated. In short it is both a serious and humorous topic.

How restaurants such as Panera and Chipotle are dipping into A.I. to streamline food prep and ordering (video)

"From drive-thru to back-of-house operations to predictive ordering for consumers, restaurant brands are starting to pilot artificial intelligence to streamline food service."

"The technology has yet to reach critical mass at major chains but has the potential to automate more tasks and give restaurant workers the opportunity to have a more meaningful experience with guests."

"Analysts say a key benefit is the potential to ease workforce challenges in an ongoing tight hiring market. The National Restaurant Association predicts the industry will add 500,000 jobs by the end of 2023, but notes there’s currently just one job seeker for every two open positions." (READ MORE)

"It’s coming. There’s no avoiding it. If you are a restaurateur, artificial intelligence (AI), automation and robotics are coming to a street near you – and sooner than you may think."

"Steering clear from the word 'robot', McDonald’s called the next-generation innovations 'advanced kitchen equipment' designed to automate repetitive tasks such as cooking fries and dispensing beverages."

The only possible benefit I see is maybe less contaminated food if there's less human handling but, then I got to thinking...if they don't clean the equipment then we're still in the same boat. After watching the video of the challenge I think I'd rather have the human made one. At least there's no worries the AI will spit in your food. LOL!

I think that AI is going to eventually come to the conclusion that humans are vermin and will find ways to gradually dispose of us.

No AI cook for me...thanks! ;)
