It could be Romney versus Hillary! Who would you vote for if the election was today?

Romney has surged ahead of all other Repuplican candidates in a recent poll and Hillary is way ahead of anyone in sight. So, if this was the way it will be in 2016, I think Romney has a good chance if the economy is still stumbling and ISIS is contained. I would vote for him and surely you should consider voting for him, too, now and then...

Out of curiosity rkunsaw, who out of the list of Republican hopefuls do you believe would win that Primary and still be able to carry the General Election? Remember... the Primary is predominantly voted by very Conservative republicans... Winning the General depends on having Moderates and independents willing to vote.. AND.. everything said and promised in the Primary will be made into 60 second political ads for the opposition.. Who... I might add, will be very well funded.

Romney? Never!! Nor any other republican!

The problem the Mitster had in 2012 was that he twisted his little "top 1%" self into a pretzel trying to out conservative all the other conservatives... and it was so easy to see he was a liar.. one only had to go back to his record as Governor to see he was NOT a conservative... just a liar. Then of course, he got caught calling 47% of us lazy takers... that certainly didn't help. Romney is a fraud.. and remember... all the video clips of his asshatery are still available. The others in the field are so far to the Right of Mars that it's unclear HOW they could ever come back to the middle to win a General Election.

You are right QuickSilver that my choice might not have the best chance to win. Right now among potential candidates I like Rand Paul best. DR. Ben Carson, Col. Allen West, and Ted Cruz are among favorites.

What candidates do you favor?

Hillary Clinton... Bernie Saunders, Elizabeth Warren, and perhaps Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown.

Don't you like Jeb Bush? Now if he stuck to his views and didn't do all that Conservative contortionism in the Primary.. I think, unfortunately, he might have a chance. But he would never get through the Primary that way. How about Chris Christie? He seems to appeal to many with his bullyish brash manor.
