I'm in Cardiff tomorrow..walking over that Bridge!

Yep, I remember 1996 Leaving Oregon to go to Iowa. The Columbia river almost went over the banks at the city. People were being taken out via boat, high lifted vehicles.

Haven't seen anything like that here again so far.

In the last few days California has become all of those places combined, a product of repeated atmospheric rivers. We got a reprieve today, but the next wave arrives tomorrow. I‘ve often wondered what it was like to live in Florida. Now I’ve got a pretty good hint. )-8

My son in law and three of my grandsons are linemen in California and have been away from home for over two weeks now. We are starting to see several accidents now-one deadly-and I know that it`s because these workers are all beyond exhausted. My daughter said when she talked to SIL last night you could hear in his voice how exhausted he was. They have to hike through all that wet mess to get to the downed lines and the poles. The area where they work is not in your nice, paved neighborhoods. They work up in the mountains of Northern California.

Yesterday he got a call from his buddy on another crew working nearby who told him to get over there now. They heard a pole that was cracking in the storm. And my grandson was up on that pole. Yikes! They got the bucket up to him and he got in and was safe.Turns out the pole WASN`T cracked (they probably heard a tree branch cracking) but it sure didn`t make me worry any less....

Mrs. Robinson that’s scary. Glad your grandson is okay. In Reno some people didn’t have power for a week. Mine was only out for 3 days. Lineman from other states came to help. The heavy wet snow took down trees and some power lines. We also have to be concerned about flooding in certain areas.
