Obviously as everyone knows you are what you eat, same with the you think. I was so negative, refusing to entertain happy thoughts and yep, you guessed I was miserable. Posted earlier "this is now, that was then" remunerated negative events from my past. Finally the therapist pointed out that every attempt she made to turn around my negativity I counteracted each response she made as not aware of my actions until she point blank called it to my attention.

Since then when negativity creeps in my thoughts, I stop it and redirect my thoughts to something helpful.

I once was passing thru a patient’s room when they were watching some person on Oprah. All I caught of the show was that every day when you wake up you can ā€œchoose happinessā€. I have thought of that often…and try to live by it. I wish my guy would goto your counselor.

I was the same till a therapist pointed out that I dwell on negative things and don't see the good. I've changed since then but still am nowhere near perfect. I've had a lot of negative things thrown at me in my life and it's a wonder I see anything positive but I do.

I realized that when I was still a young wife and mother. I choose to be happy.
