It was a year ago

How are you now. My eye problems have been with a corneal disease. But i got corneal implants (and cataracts removed in 2014, and have been good since. Hoping your issue has been successfully treated.

How is vision now?

Was it your dominant eye?
Yes, it was my good eye, unfortunately. I had three surgeries on it and have some vision in that eye, but it's cloudy and distorted. My retinal surgeon said that's a good as it will likely ever be. She said there's a hole in the retina. They were going to do an amniotic patch (a.k.a. stem cell) last November, but once the surgeon got in there, she said the hole was too shallow, so they just did the usual vitrectomy with a laser treatment. I can see fairly well out of my right eye, if I wear a corrective lens, so that allows me to drive. My greatest fear is that it will happen in my good eye.

No one ever commented on that. Doctors aren't clairvoyant. ;)
No, but they usually have some idea based on stats and articles by their peers. Also by considering what might have caused the first issue in one eye.
i actually asked my Corneal specialist if Corneal Dystrophy could overtake my partial corneal implants. His response was that there had been a some cases where it did, but they were rare. i'm at 9 yrs post surgery on left eye and 8.5 yrs post on the Right. So far so good.

I asked because of your fear that it will happen in your other eye. Some eye conditions are more likely to occur in a second eye if someone has already had the issue in one eye.

For instance, someone with glaucoma in one eye has a 40% - 80% likelihood (depending on the type of glaucoma) to get it in the other eye.

I've had cataract surgeries in both eyes and and am currently on Latanoprost eye drops for gaulcoma. Both conditions, as well as near-sightedness (myopia) which I have, all contribute to a predisposition for retinal detachment. :(
