Italian elves

on another thread Italian elf was brought up. It got me wondering if indeed Italians had elf folklore. Turns out they do! I love the internet..such a vast library..

I'll be darned. I've heard of gnomes and dwarves and leprechauns and of the Meinzelmaennchen and Heinzelmaennchen in Germany. It never occurred to me that there was any kind of elf at all in Italy.

yeah it was news to me too, but I don't know much about Italian culture
