I learned another thing today, that vindicates me, I've always been an advocate of drinking hot coffee on a hot day. I remember my father telling me about the workers doing the Boulder/Hoover dam in Nevada, he was laying brick for the housing. He said there was a study as to why the Spanish/Americans were able to work in the extreme heat while the caucasian workers suffered.

They determined that the Spanish/Americans were eating hot foods, drinking hot drinks & therefore were able to withstand the extremes better. I was the butt of many jokes when I would point that out. I have drank hot coffee on days when the temp was over 90 & thought nothing of it. But now, science is supporting me. One thing to take into account is the theory only pertains to living in a dry climate, Nevada, Arizona, Utah,,,etc. I was born & reared in Utah so it came as no surprise to me. Just now have to convince all my friends who thought I was off the reservation.

It was 93 in Houston yesterday and I still drank my hot coffee. Of course it was sweet tea the rest of the day!

I noticed over the years while being a pilot, I had noticed that the older pilots drank a lot of coffee while flying. The younger pilots coming in today drink very little coffee. They do, however, drink those fancy coffee drinks, like Lattes. I drank a lot of coffee when I worked. Today, just the opposite. One mug in the morning and I have had my fill for the day, unless we eat out at a restaurant, then I do need coffee with my dessert. I don't care what the temp is outside.
